Know ye, Son of Man, that ere ever
the most ancient of your worlds kingdoms was founded, between the fall
of the Serpent Empires and the rise of the Young Nations, ancient domains
were born and died across untold centuries, passing into Fable and Legend.
Dark powers were worshipped in those days, but darker still were some
of the creatures who walked the lands...
Zhund was an ancient land, its location long buried in a tangle of myth and fable, but in the tales it was said that in Zhund even the lowliest peasant wore jewels and gold, and that the lords of Zhund were buried with their wealth and their servants in a huge Necropolis, a vast City of the Dead. Now Aslargi was a clever young man, and he soon realised that he could not hope to plunder such a place alone, even the way there would be a trial for heroes. So he let it be known in the guild halls and temples and even the taverns of Shakhan of the Silver Domes that he knew of the location of a treasure out of Ancient History. One by one they came to Shakhan, warriors, mages, rogues and priests, all manner of adventurers, their names as yet unknown, even though in years to come some of them would become known among the mightiest heroes of the Young Nations. Aslargi chose carefully among them, and when he thought he had the best available company of heroes, he revealed their destination to them: the Necropolis of Zhund, located deep in the desert beyond the Ghost Peaks which lay south and east of Shakhan. The infamous desert known as the Bone Waste. This then is their tale, a tale of the days of high adventure...
